Video & Online Games - December 2007

Okay, so heres the story. I have been playing Warcraft III, the Frozen Throne for a long time. I took a break, and now I would like to start playing again.
However, I cannot find the disc, and have looked everywhere. So, I found out how to install a "no cd crack", which worked, but now I have found that there was a patch implemented which I do not have. I click Battle.net, but instead of it starting the download like it should, I get this error message:
"Unable to validate game version. Please reconnect to Battle.net, or apply the current game patch manually."
I looked online and found a few sites where I could download the patch, but when I try to use the file I download, I always get an error message that recommends I try to reinstall everything.
Obviously, the problem is I do not have the CD for the Frozen Throne (I still have it for the original). I have both CD keys. Does anyone have any good advice? How can I solve this problem?

There is a number of capital ships in the "Museum" and in separate missions, but I have never encountered any warship bigger that a River escort destroyer during the campaign. Where are the battleships, escort carriers and the rest of the good stuff?? Help!!!

I've upgraded all my other stuff, but I haven't been able to upgrade this stupid sleeping bag because I can't find any Strong String - is there a particular monster you kill? I got ONE piece of it early in the game and I hadn't gotten any bird wings yet, so I stupidly used it on something else. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

What stats effect your over all combat lvl? i thought it was attack, defense, strength,prayer, and hitpoints. Others have told me it is all of those and magic and range which is correct?

A few questions, I just can't seem to figure it out myself.

1.) What does "charging" do for you? It never seems to have an effect, do you need a certain skill level before it will work?
2.) How do you put items in your backpack, or can you?
3.) How do you chop up the tree stumps in your farm? I've used an axe on one for a whole day and nothing happened.

Any other tips/advice would be appreciated, I lost the booklet to the game so I'm having to figure it out as I go!
