What game do I buy first? The original or the green one (i forget the name). Is it worth the monthly fees? Or should I stick with Guild Wars?

Thus far all I see here are people who haven't played both games rather, they've just played WoW and are the typical WoW yahoos who think it's the ONLY game going and everything else is garbage even though they don't know any other games....
Having played both quite extensively, (I played Warcraft 1st) I no longer play Warcraft for a few reasons: Graphics on guild wars are much better / realistic. Guild wars missions / quests are more interesting than WOW. There's a lot less cheating going on in Guild Wars than WOW. I also find that Guild Wars players are a lot more friendly and willing to help out new folks or help you to build a new character. WoW people are more elitist and are apt to tell you to "not bother them" or call you a "noob". (Derogotory term for a new player.) Most importantly, once you buy Guild Wars software online play is FREE! (That "measly" $15 per month equates to $180 per year and if you were to save that "measly" $15 per month you'd have more than enough $$$$ by the end of the year to own ALL the Guild Wars Campaigns and continue to play them for FREE!) If you're getting bored with Guild wars save your money and buy a new Guild Wars campaign. Don't know which ones you have but if you haven't tried Nightfall, you're missing out....It ROCKS!

You have to buy the original; the green one (Burning Crusade) is an optional expansion pack, although it is worth it.

The monthly fee is only $15/month. That's the same as going to see a movie in the theater and buying a bag of popcorn. I think the monthly subscription is a much better use of your money.

WoW is much better than GW.

You can download the demo directly at www.warcraft.com

I can't offer any comparison to Guild Wars, I've never played that but I like playing WoW very much even at my age (WAY over 21).

You can try the free 10day demo at www.warcraft.com first, then eaither buy it online or at walmart.

the green one is Burning Crusades, and it is a must get, even if it does cost a meesly $15 a month.

Just buy the combined WoW and expansion at the same time. Fairly cheap. $29 or so I think.

After you buy it, install it, and download the patches, you create a log in name and password, subscribe via credit card, and you are ready to play.
