Video & Online Games - December 2006

Alright I want an Xbox 360 for x-mas and pretty much i have 230, my dad will pay 80, grandparents probably around 80, and uncle 80+.
Plus maybe an extra 50 from my other grandparents. that equals about 500 bucks. I really would like to get xbox live and the wireless network adaptor. Also a wireless controller and maybe 1-2 games. Does anyone think I could get all that with 500 bucks (plus I am going to a 5am Bestbuy sale)? Or what other types of things can I get with 500 dollars spending half on the 360 with like 250 to spare.

I have the Sims 2 holiday,pets,nightlife but I do not have the Sims 2.I sometimes try to use disc 2 for pets ,but it doesn't work.Is this normal?
P.S If you are wondering you do not need The Sims 2 for these games you could have just The Sims 2 Holiday.

I have the mics and USB connector for the Singstar Rocks! game for the PS2. However, we were thinking of also getting a Karaoke Revolution game for a party, will the mics still work on Karaoke Revolution??? Thanks!

The best First-Person-Shooter is Half Life 2 in my firm opinion because:

A: You have to think hard e.g. how do I get out of this prison city, where do I have to drive this car, how do I solve this puzzle, etc.
B: Scary bits e.g. haunted zombie village.
C: Intelligent foes.
D: Intriguing plot.
E: Very very tough indeed.

I believe PC's are more value for money cos you can upgrade them and the cost can come down fast in a few months e.g. graphics cards. Contrast with consoles where they bring 'em out and then replace them with new ones and rip you off for hundreds. I have personal experience of this. Better to have a PC and anyway it's good cos you can also use them for surfin', media, chat etc. Over to u.....

Anybody as distraught as i am. i was so looking forward to this game in the summer, they delayed it saying it's not finished and its out now. within 2 mins of switching it on i had to turn it off and am absolutely f'ng mortified at what they have done. no back story, no training, starting as supes running, RUNNING around.ea should lower their head in shame. the setup besuperman.com and duped us with hype and i just managed to hold back tears. i swapped it for justice league heroes. thats what saved me from distress!!!!

okay, my question is about the silver service that comes with the new system. I bought a 360, the 400 dollar version, for my brother for christmas. I'm wondering, the silver service it comes with, is it for a whole year or is it only a trial thing? If it is a trial thing, how long is it for? Also, what is the difference between the Gold service and the Silver service?

I was told that for xmas I could have either a 360 or a Nintendo Wii, and I chose the 360.

The thing is, I don't have an HDTV. I'll be playing it on a 20" flat screen with component video inputs (not too shabby but certainly not HD, I don't have that kind of money). However, I do have a surround sound system capable of 5.1. Is a 360 worth $400 if you can't see it in HD?
