yes they will I have 11 ps1 games in my collection that play just fine on both version on the ps2 meaning the big and slim mini console and the are Dino Crisis 1&2 Parasite Eve 1&2 Soul Reaver Blood Omen Clock Tower 1&2 Echo Night Silent Hill and x files

Most but not all PS1 games will work on the PS2.

Yes, I've played FF 7 numerous times on my PS2. Thing is, you will need a PS1 memory card.

no ps2 one games will only work on a ps2. but ps1 games wii also work on a ps2
