milk, bread, and eggs: the most perishable items in the store. if a major disaster takes place, it's pointless to have these items. you can't keep them cool, and you can't cook, making eggs a not so excellent choice. you might as well buy raw meat too. why not canned goods? just curious...

Do you, like me, have a splodge on the side and dip your chips in, or do you squirt it all over and make a mess eating them?

During the recent surge of Girl Scout Cookies, I looked at the ingredients of the back of one of the boxes. The label states that there are zero grams of trans-fat. However under the ingredients, the first ingredient is sugar followed by partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. My question is how do the companies, who produce the food, get away with putting no grams of trans-fat yet, have the partially hydrogenated oils in their ingredients?

After an ice storm this weekend, the power was off for 18 hours. I threw out the milk because it smelled bad, and the only other things in the fridge were apples and mustard (guess I need to go shopping). The items in the freezer were all still cold, and the ice cubes were still solid.

I'm still not sure that the frozen pizza, ice cream, and TV dinners in the freezer are safe. Any thoughts?

Aspartame, Acesulfame, Saccharin, Splenda. They all taste beyond nasty....eeecchhh.

I am well aware that even though they start out that way--high fructose corn syrup and granulated white sugar can't be considered natural sweeteners either, but at least they taste like sugar.
