I'm fairly new to the complexities that is single malt Scotch. What are some good choices to start with? Mainly, I'm looking for something smokey but not too peaty. Also, not to extravagant that I can't find it in most liquor stores, and not too expensive that I can 't afford it. So far I have tried Glenfiddich 12yr, Auchentoshan 10yr, and Macallen 12 year. The Glenfiddich was good, but I think I like the Macallen better. The Auchentoshan is supposed to have a low peat flavor, but it tases "dirty" to me. Any help would be greatly appreciacted before I drop $40 or more on something I may not be ready for.

I'm making a connection to remy martin when thinking of hennesy? Also what is cognac classified as, would it be scotch? What are all of these? Are they the same or diffrent? What do they each taste like, origin, what varieties do they come in, what are they classified as, are they popular? etc..

Is liquor or beer more "potent" (sp?) (meaning, more likely to get you drunk faster or more drunk ) when it's warm (such as room temp.) rather than cold or ice cold?

I know people love correcting ones questions on here. So just to clear this up, I may have worded and/or spelled things wrong in my question. Factual answers are needed, corrections or insults...not. Thanks.

Quantities to your liking: tequila, black cherry coke, sour mix, and tabasco sauce served over ice in a rocks glass. I'm looking for a name with a Tex-Mex sound.

My husband doesnt want to drink. So if I have beer in the house or if I drink beer, he says it makes it hard for him, and then he ends up drinking too. He said I need to be supportive. He also said that I am an alcoholic, which is not true. I like to drink, but I dont have to drink. So he said that I could not go two weeks without a drink. I personally dont think this is fair....? Do I have to quit drinking in order for him to quit drinking? Am I being totally unsupportive? I will try to be supportive, and not drink as well. But when the weekend rolls around, I know I will want to drink. . . Anyone else in this situation, or am I alone?

Well it's a SKYY BerryVodka Bottle with smooth cap. There is nothing to grip down on because it is so smooth. I've never tried this kind of vodka and would like to open the bottle but, I try and try to twist the darn cap and it gets me no where. I am not sure why it won't open. Is there something I can use to open it up with? It's not like a beer cap it's totally different. Longer cap and smooth, with no fancy grip edges to make it easy to open. Many thanks.

I have recently started to drink fairtrade wine, and so far havn't had a bad bottle (red, white or rose). Just wondering what everyone else thought of it.
In the co-op it is also very cheap at just £3.20-£6.

I'm going on a second date with this guy and he's going to cook me dinner. I don't know exactly what he's making but I think he's going to make a spicy stir fry with steak because I told him that is one of my favorite things to eat. What would be a good wine that would go with that dish that is available in Canada and is under $20?

Answer this as if you were ordering one at a bar, not what you'd get from the store. However, if you have a great mixed-drink recipe feel free to share!
