I saw a video of this, what I got from it was that the beer had been sitting in a freezer or a very cold refrigerator for a while and all you do is tap the beer on the surface of a table or counter and the jolt will cause the beer to somehow freeze right in front of your eyes. The quickest way to get beer cold enough to drink is placing in a cooler with 1/2 cold water and 1/2 ice. They tested every way possible on Myth Busters and this is the quickest by far.

They had this topic on Mythbusters. The best way to drop the temp of a beer is to put the can/bottle in a bowl with ice and salt.

Like a whole bottle/can? Liquid nitrogen maybe.
A small amount would freeze instantly if you pour it on ice, but it will quickly thaw out again.

Go to "Kill some time.com". They've got 2 or 3 videos that shows a dude doing that with a Corona. What a waste of a good beer!

Put the beer into a plastic bag.
Immerse the plastic bag into liquid Nitrogen for a FEW SECONDS.
Extract the solid baggy from the liquid nitrogen.

You could drop the bottle in a bucket of liquid nitrogen...but then it could also explode.

dry ice or if you have time i would say crank your freezer up as high as possible and let it sit for a couple day
