If they are being given out as gifts, purchase them as close to the event as possible to reduce them drying out and have your recipients place the cigar (hopefully wrapped in plastic or in a glass tube) in a plastic bag with a lightly dampened paper town to keep moisture in, if they do not have a humidor. They should be smoked within a few weeks to get good flavor.

I think you need to find out what kind of cigars the person you are buying for likes. If they like medium bodied smokes, there are plenty of them available for between $100-150. I know one of my favorite cigars is $110 a box for 25.
