A few years back the geodesic dome with all of its little triangles was the environmentalists dream home. What do you think of it now? Is it any good or would a hogan serve just as well?

If you line a shaft 8' X 6' and 20' deep with concrete you could conceivably build a 960 square foot apartment in the ground. You could be quite comfortable without heating and cooling. You could spelunk from top to bottom and back. The draw backs of course would be only one exit for fire safety so smokers could only smoke at the top level in the kitchen or outside on the trap door. Seems like there could be another problem too I'm not sure. Would it be environmentally good and good to live in?

This article just shows the immaturity of some people. Whether you are green or not doesn't change how people should act. I understand that this vandalism is vast the minority of those who claim they are "green". But this reinforces the (although I assume innacurate) impression that those who are "green" are smug and believe they are better becasue they drive hybrids, or have a smaller cabron footprint.

I would rather drive a Hummer than a hybrid, not because I like it better, but because of the impression people get if I were to drive a hybrid.

I am not pro-pollution, but I would consider myself anti-green. I find the spokespeople for the entire green movement, the celebrities and just those who are vocal about it, very hypocritical and come off smug. I am not a bad person because I didn't buy a hybrid, or because I don't recycle all the time. You are not better than me becasue I use oil to heat my home and you use solar.

Could you help me how can we use the dynamics energy of a high speed low pressure (atm) air, exits from a piping system equipped with a fan, without increasing the pressure on the exitting air and accordingly on the fan.

Since it is not good for the environment to buy water in plastic bottles since petroleum is used, is it also bad to have them recycled? If so, what is suggestion for disposal?

Would like to consider going solar for my home but ideally I don't like the large ugly panels that I've seen. Is their newer technology for solar for residential homes?

No monitor. And not a souped up system. Let's assume the power supply is rated for 300 Watts. And if I used the panel with a 12 volt deep charge battery?

How can we travel green, since many of us can't, and many won't, just stay at the same place forever?

Recycling is unique per product. Plastic is hard to recycle and not presently 'valuable' on the market as a buy back. Alluminum is easier to recycle and has high post recycle resale. Newspaper is easy to recycle but it cheaper for companies to buy new paper for printing.

So to better recycle is to better purchase. Should I buy that 12oz alluminum can over the 16oz plastic bottle?

Who has those answers??
Anyone....

I just bought a pack of "green" lightbulbs, but thought it may be wasteful to just throw away 6 lightbulbs that still work just fine.

What do you all think?

Why green? I remember learning that black absorbs the most light -- hence the suckiness of a black shirt on a sunny day.

And if green's so great, why aren't solar a leafier hue?

I have been reading many of the answers for going "green" but quite often they don't apply - we can't change light bulbs or the thermostat temperature and of course we already have MANY recycling cans around for both paper and cans/bottles. Any suggestions would be great! We want to put up a few posters around the office with suggestions as well as add them to our internal web page.

Thanks!!!

Living in Connecticut, some towns are planning on doing this. Only plastic bags that are biodegradable will be used.
Do you think it is a good idea?
I think it is.
