Honestly, I am frustrated, surprised, and confused about why so many people refuse to recognize Global Climate Change (also called global warming) as a serious problem. I can barely understand why not all people are convinced that it has been made significantly worse by humans, but really don't get why anyone thinks humans are *incapable* of slowing it down.

No one who has seen the skies above smoggy cities has any problem noticing that we have created smog. And obviously, if we can create it, we humans can stop creating it!

The science showing that the cycles of global warming and cooling have never happened this fast are so clear--how can people say that this is "normal" when all the evidence shows that it is NOT normal at all.

Will the level of disaster that befalls our planet in order to prove this to the nay-sayers be so bad that by then, we probably won't be able to do anything to slow it down?

Why do some people insist on arguing total human inability to fix this problem?

Check out this time line:

1895 - NY Times ran stories about "Global Cooling"
1907 - NY Times warning of "Temperatures Rising Globally"
1924 - NY Times ran stories about "A New Ice Age"
1933 - NY Times reported "The Longest Warming Spell Since 1776"
1975 - NY Times "A major Cooling Widely Considered to Be Inevitable"
Today - Back to warming

1923 - Time Magazine wrote about "Advancing Glaciers...new ice age"
1939 - Time..."No Doubt That the World is Warming"
1974 - Time..."Another Ice Age"
2001 - Time..."Scientists No Longer Doubt That Global Warming is Happening"

So I guess my question is: How long is it before the scientists, or at least the media, is convinced that we are headed for an ice age? I need to know if I should put away my thermals that I bought in the 70s or keep them out...I could need them soon.

I hope for evidence proving that:

1) The reverse is happening (global cooling) OR
2) There is no downward or upward trend in global temperatures
3) Current evidence for global warming is insufficient
4) The current temperature trend is natural, not man-made
5) Global warming is self-reversible.

Links will be good!

32F or 0C is melting point of natural ice.
The current trend is average increase of .72F or .4C from early 80s to present time.

One of the things icebergs do is help reflect UV radiation back into space, without them the oceans absorb the heat and thus melt more icebergs which further accelerates the melting.
I don't pretend to know how big all the icebergs are in square miles, but what if we positioned giant mirrors on floating barges? Does this make sense and would it even be doable?
Please don't answer if you disagree with global warming, you dinosaurs are vastly outnumbered, the science is sound, global warming is real, get used to it.
I'm not interested in debating that FACT, just want to know if what I'm proposing would work. Thanks!

We all know oil can be made from almost anything as is clear in the studies of nature so why not use good processes rather than poor processes? There are very few examples of good processes now in use by humans for disposing of trash or the making of new energy supplies.

What's more important to you so-called global warming or crime? We need to be more concerned about crime than so-called GW. They act as though GW's the only important thing we should worry about. There's a lot more to worry about that so-called GW.

I know perhaps that almost everyone has heard of the"Bandwagon" effect right.....question is why the hell aren't most of the largest cities in the world come to thier senses and start delivering results to overcome this global threat. what are some acts as we the people can do to make our leaders see that as much as we care about changes for the best that they should share similar intentions. We are faced with a great opponent though..the all mighty dollar.presidential individuals will kill to obtain stacks of those puppies.Ideas that we can make a new economy market with the Recycling of energy, or new habits to produce clean energy are infinte.I cannot emphasize enough though that we should all act as one if we are to see changes as quick as we want them to be placed into effect.
