This shows exactly how the video distorted the science, complete with references to the literature:

http://www.amos.org.au/BAMOS_GGWS_SUBMISSION_final.htm

The British press took it apart:

"A Channel 4 documentary claimed that climate change was a conspiratorial lie. But an analysis of the evidence it used shows the film was riddled with distortions and errors."

http://news.independent.co.uk/environment/climate_change/article2355956.ece

"Pure Propaganda"

http://www.medialens.org/alerts/07/0313pure_propaganda_the.php

Even the channel which broadcast it thinks it's wrong. If you go to their website on the movie it says "Confused now? Ask the Expert", with a link. The questions go to a mainstream scientist who says global warming is mostly caused by man.

So, why did they broadcast it?

"The science might be bunkum, the research discredited. But all that counts for Channel 4 is generating controversy."

Some poor guy is getting a first hand education on how Global Warming hysteria is attracting the most zealous environuts. I've never heard of any attacks by Louisiana rednecks on Prius's, have you?

"WASHINGTON - Vandals smashed the windows of a new Hummer parked in a neighborhood, slashed the tires and left a message — "FOR THE ENVIRON" — scratched into the body, authorities said."

"Now, as Groves contemplates what to do with the remains of his $38,000 Hummer, he has had to deal with a number of people who have driven by the crime scene and glared at him in smug satisfaction.

"I'd say one in five people who come by have that 'you-got-what-you-deserve' look," said his friend Andy Sexton."

I have just seen a recording of of Channel 4's "The great global warming swindle". Frankly it was packed with so many scientific facts it's really hard not to agree. I read the "New Scientist" and I have heard them really mock this program but they have never addressed all of their arguements.....is there anyone else out there with an opinion on this matter or the program ?

I look forward to your replies

Andy

I want to make Al Gore angry. Tell me the cheapest way I can absolutely make my CO2 output as big as possible. I know I can never hope to match the amount that Al Gore produces, but I want to know how I can give him a run for his money on a shoestring budget.

Global warming is a serious problem. If we don't stop it now it's going to get worse and worse. This is what can happen. Polluting cars will cause the earth to warm up, making the glaciers melt. Causing the glaciers to melt makes an unbalance of salt and freshwater in the sea. Causing that makes them change currents. Causing that will make them create storms, and tornados and such. All this is another ice age which can probably happen in 20 years or so. So what's needed to get is energy efficent lightbulbs. If you change 5 regular un-energy efficent ones thats like taking 400,000 cars off the road. Don't drive around a lot. If the store is 20 minutes away it won't hurt to walk there. Plus its healthy. So what are you going to do to prevent global warming?

In 2005 after Katrina and during the high number of storm recorded that year, there was no shortage of "experts" who claimed that there was a link between the two, and that 2006 and future years would be even worse for hurricanes than 2005.

Almost all "research" stated that there was no link, but then stated that "At present, however, the available scientific evidence suggests that it would be premature to assert that the recent anomalous behavior can be attributed entirely to a natural cycle." or it's defiantly because of man made "global warming"

http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2005/09/hurricanes-and-global-warming/

Yet, they were wrong, as no one can predict what the future will hold. Maybe if they say just wait till next year, we'll forget all the years they were wrong and wonder at the genius of the men that "accurately" made the prediction.

Hi everyone,

I should, but I have to say I don't know very much about what is happening to the earth and with climate change. I do plan to research more about this as it is very important, but in the meantime, I thought it would be a good question and could help others learn more as well. What are the main causes of climate change? What are the main things I can do to contribute? I would like to do my part.
Thank you in advance.

Has anyone seen _this_ collection of anti-carbon insanity?

Human Volcano: One proposal is to simulate natural volcanoes by firing pellets of sulphur into the upper atmosphere where the particles of sulphur will reflect back some of the solar radiation. SULFUR COMPOUNDS ARE NOT ONLY TOXIC, THEY ARE THE PRIMARY CAUSE OF ACID RAIN!

Sulphur Blanket: Nobel Prize winner Professor Paul Crutzen has put forward a scheme which, like the Human Volcano, uses the principle of sulphur to block out some of the suns rays. Professor Crutzen's idea is to launch rockets into the stratosphere (10 to 50km above Earth's surface) and release one million tons of sulphur. ONCE AGAIN, SULFUR COMPOUNDS ARE NOT ONLY TOXIC, THEY ARE THE PRIMARY CAUSE OF ACID RAIN!
