The entirety if "proving" global warming relies on computer modeling. Without it, global warming science is a disjointed collection of data. It cannot be proven in a laboratory, because that is a crude approximation of the dynamic global climate. Can you support a hypothesis? Sure enough. But this in no way should be confused with "proof".

Trevor should know better - more accurately, he is a researcher working on carbon sequestering; his career is totally shot if CO2 is not the cause of global warming.

Global warming can quite easily be proved, it's nothing more than a simple physical interaction between the molecules of greenhouse gases and thermal radiation radiated from the earth but prevented from escaping into space. On a scoentific level it's not at all complicated and can be demonstrated in any reasonably well equipped lab.

My own view is that the primary contributor to the current observed global warming trend is an anthropogenic one but that there is also an underlying natural trend.

Just for the record, the question is very rarely disputed by those in the scientific community or who have a sound knowledge of global warming and climate change. Here there is an almost unanimous agreement.

Also for the record, I do know about global warming - it's my job.

How can you prove global warming? You will need a research team, lots of expensive equipment and several years. You will also have accomplished what no one has yet if you can prove it first.
