Global Warming is not gonna happen If it does what are we gonna do about it. It's not the Earth heating up it's the sun. What are we gonna do about that? Make a giant light bulb that runs off water? I don't belive ether

I would ask you politely to look at this http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/tabledata/GLB.Ts.txt

It's a spreadsheet of global temperatures taken monthly for the last 127 years. As you can see, this year has started off as the hottest on record.

You may also wish to look at the record breaking hot weather in Florida and other parts of the world - the current heatwave in Europe for example.

It may be cold in southern California but around the world as a whole it's hotter than ever.

Another intersting point from the data in the above table - June 2007 was the 175th consecutive month of above average temperatures.

You all know it's not the actual temperature we are concerned with, right? I mean yeah big deal to me and you personally the day the temp goes up 2 degrees. The issue we have with it is the effect it is going to have on the whole planet and THEN what it will do to us. Weather patterns change, food crops die, people starve or go broke trying to buy bread. Sea levels raise or lower and cities are submerged or major seaports are left dry. There goes the world economy again. Do you know how desperate hungry broke people get? Check BBC news. Violent crime would skyrocket, street gangs would take over....(again, watch BBC news) whoops there goes the economy.
So, if you can't wrap your mind about saving the trees and the bugs and stuff try to imagine all the civilization we have managed so far all dumped down the drain, and how that will effect you.

I live in England, the Met office predicted a very hot summer, but instead it has been cool (about 20C) and very wet. This is opposite the expected trend of warmer and drier summers global warming suggests. But guess what the global warming fanatics claim that this weather is due to global warming, something they claim whatever the weather. The climate varies naturally sometimes warmer sometimes colder, it is not all caused by humans.

I agree it is silly to point to one hot summer as proof of global warming, but having a 68 degree day is even sillier to point out as proof that global warming is a hoax. So how much smarter are you than the "global warming freaks"? You can sit down now, too.

Right now its 110 degrees in the area of southern cal. that I live.
If you do a little research you will see that all it takes is an increase of 2-3 degrees global wide to change the earths environmental conditions to the point of world wide famine do to dead crops. major droughts in some areas torrential rain in others. [think Texas these past several weeks] the environment is a fragile link that can be broken through the abuse of the earths resource by us humans. To say that the risk of this happening is nonexistent, amounts to no more then a lack of understanding that everything here on earth is connected, destroy one thing and it has a lasting effect on everything

Yeah, and it's the same temperature in the Arctic. It is warmer today in Yellowknife, Whitehorse and Anchorage Alaska. Are you too stupid to find that strange?

Now you can sit down and shut up. *Carlin was right*

Global warming deniers like to talk about short term weather in one location as if it disproves long term weather over the entire globe.

That shows two things. That they don't know the difference between weather and climate. And they don't have any scientific arguments on their side.

So, it's fair to assume that southern California is representative of the entire planet's climatological trends --- scientific fact and research be damned?
"If it ain't happenin' in my back yard, it ain't a-happnin' nowhere."
Is that about right?

So, if soldiers aren't dying in your neighborhood, they probably aren't dying in Iraq, either?
Your porch didn't get wet, so that whold tsunami thing a few years ago was a lie?
No one displaced by Hurricane Katrina asked to sleep on your couch, so that probably didn't happen.
No moon rocks sitting on your kitchen table, so that proves the lunar landing was fake, right?

Give me a break.
