I'm refering to the scenario where there is a presenter reading out the name to a group of contestants as to who is 'going home' 'going on to the next round'.

I can understand them trying to built the tension, but they just seem do go too far with 15 + seconds of silence.

What do you think?

What do you think of TV shows doing undercover things like dressing someone up to be "unattractive" with a hidden camera catching the public's reactions to them versus them dressed up looking good?

And why is it all of a sudden on the rise?

Didn't we all already learn this lesson in life?
