Because networks don't want to be innundated by people either complaining that the shows are taking God's name in vain, or by people complaing about them inserting religious content and messages into kids shows. Either way, they would cath too much flack from someone that had nothing beter to do with their time but to complain about something that could be easily avoided by using this thing call an off button on the remote, or just changing the channel. Instead, they have to watch ,a nd then complain because they watched. Plus there is some FCC regulation regarding the use of the word...even in adult shows they dont use the phrase or word often...and have even taken to censoring it out in shows form the 70's when it was used without incident.

news flash - not eveyone believes in god, or just one god, or even call their religious being(s) god. Plus, everyone tries to be so careful not to offend anyone at all these days we're lucky we still have any comprehensible media at all.
