I do not mean to sound predjudice, but I am looking for an honest answer. Why is it that music that is often referred to as "black" music, such as hip hop and rap, so often extremely vulgar and violent? I personally listen to country, but I notice that almost anytime people are listening to rap or hip hop, there is often swearing, mention of killing/raping someone, gangs and shootouts, etc. It is also often loaded with the words "b*tch" and "n*gg*r". Why is this? Why don't more people who enjoy rap music have "clean" music? Isn't it possible that listening to this type of music gives the children/adolesence who listen to it the wrong message? If a kid listens to songs about people shooting each other every time they get pissed at someone, what is to keep them from thinking this is the norm?

Do you like the song "Ain't No Sunshine" by DMX?

Classic song by DMX. Too bad it's not heard by too many people though, because it wasn't on an official album, only a soundtrack.

What's the best song about smoking weed, in your opinion?

I think "Fried Day" by Bizzy Bone is best of all-time, with "Roll It Up, Light It Up, Smoke It Up" by Cypress Hill.

Seriously KRS is my favorite rapper, but it seems he is never brought up in any discussions talking about old school rap or when using examples from the old school on Yahoo answers. Yet every greatest rapper list has him in the top 10, usually top 5. I just don't think most people respect him or really know about his career, so i have a challenge to no one who's ever heard KRS-One listen to the album "Criminal Minded". He is so underrated in most rap discussions. Will someone please tell me why everyone forgets about KRS, and give me reasons why he shouldn't be known as on of the best of all times? I just kind of want to get everyone's opinions on KRS.

Roxanne Shante was a one of the pioneers in female rap and the other day I was listen to her 1989 album "Bad Sister" and I heard the song called "Feelin' Kinda Horny". I noticed something familiar in this songs beat I realized it was sounded a lot like the beat to "Big Poppa" by The Notorious B.I.G. Now it wasn't exactly the same beat it sounded like Biggie's beat was higher pitched. Also in "Feelin' Kinda Horny" Shante asks "Sucka MC's tell me how you livin'" and in Biggie's song he is asked "How you livin' Biggie Smalls?" Now can someone tell me if this is just my imagination or if my theory that Biggie's Big Poppa song was based on Feelin' Kinda Horny and if the beat is stolen?

No really, I'm serious... just look at T-pain ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ed3cDthK9PM ) all he does is at a robot sound to his voice and he's on damn near every song that comes out...

*NOW* look at Stephen Hawking ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=HSUsXYcQ5qA ) T- Pain has a real voice, this guy doesn't... everything he says is robotic so its like **HE'S TWICE AS GOOD AS T-PAIN!** Quick! Somebody sign this guy and get him in the studio!!!

"Laffy Taffy" is inspirational: anyone can be a rapper these days!

1. Dust off a Casio keyboard.

2. Program said keyboard with a simple three note arrangement. Place this original arrangement on a continuous loop lasting approximately three minutes. [Alternative: pilfer someone else's melody, i.e., "sample" it. Though, this may cost more].

3. Create a band name that will lend itself to being a logo or general branding. And make sure it can be an acronym. [Side note: I am choosing "Playa-H8" or PH8 for short.]

4. Create an euphemism for a female body part or parts and place a verb in front of said euphemism. For example: "Show Me Your Cotton Candy." It doesn't have to make sense. I mean, how can a woman shake her Laffy Taffy? Do I not understand what Laffy Taffy is?

5. Write verses similar to "Gurl, u wanna sip some brandy/and show me your cotton candy." Or "Herrr some dollars bills, I'm feelin' randy/I been peeping your 'hills,' and your cotton candy." Or just be direct: "Let me stick my cone in your cotton candy." Proper grammar and punctuation is looked down upon.

6. Wait for the groundswell of depraved idiots crawling the Internet to download your song and/or push for its airplay because it's oh sooooooo dirty.

7. Rent video ho's and make video with 30 to 1 video ho to rapper ratio.

8. Collect riches.

9. Repeat.

p.s. Watch for PH8's "Show Me Your Cotton Candy," set to drop this Summer.

i think 2 pac is overrated. he raps so simple and nothing out of this world. 2 pac made songs that people wanted to hear and he put it out there all the time pretending or making it seem like he lived it. 2 pac is probably the fakest rapper too.. he wasnt a gangster at all.. and we all know it he never sold drugs, shot anybody, yeah he got shot but since when is it cool to get shot?("you respect the one who got shot, i respect the shooter!" -JAY) never jumped into a gang, wasnt a blood, wasnt even from the west! his mom was more thug than him!.his flow sounds the same all the time.. he cannot freestyle to save his life.he got big after he died.. everyone jumped on his d*ck for no reason.. i am tired of people putting him in the top 3 rappers of all time! there is no metaphores involved no similies no complicated rap or stories.. just lyrics that would make him look like a victim and a gangster that would help him sale, please DONT say he is better than Nas and or Jay Z . at all
