Im from the Northwest side of Chicago. People listen to everything here, from underground, to the pop radio crap. I think people are obsessed with Wayne and 50 everywhere. F ing jock riders. I think I would fall into the catagory of REAL hip hop listener. Here is what is in my 6 cd changer in my car. Eardrum (new Talib), Pharroe Monch's new album, Kanyes (cant tell me nothing mixtape...better then the album), Joell Ortiz, Im still listening to Lupe Fiascos album, I dont take it out for some reason, and Common...finding forever, even though it wasnt my favorite album.

I would say that the majority of the people listen to the latest craze on the radio...at the moment, of course, it's Soulja Boy. But, here's the kicker: not only the people that I talk with, but the people that love Soulja Boy and Li' Jon, at least know a thing or two about real Hip-Hop. The same person that's singing Crank That would rather have Heavenly Devine on his Ipod. Jedi Mind, Wu-Tang, Typical Cats, Deltron 3030, AOTP, Talib, Common, Nas, and Tupac dominate the school. Especially the people that I hang out with...the current debate going on between us is the album of the year...while I am advocating for Talib's gem, Pharoah Monch is getting a lot of mention. But, we came to the conclusion that we should wait for the new Wu-Tang before we make the final decision. We are all heavily known and popular around the school as being the most intelligent surrounding music and Hip-Hop.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I live in Los Angeles, California.

Well, in Greece, nobody listens to Hip-Hop. Those who do listen, prefer Greek rap groups like Goin' Through, but I hate Greek Hip-Hop because it's a 50 Cent copy, without the good beats (What's left? Nada). Anyway, few people listen to 50 Cent and even fewer listen to Eminem. Other rappers? They don't even know them. Well, some may know Tupac and Snoop Dogg. People who really love Hip-Hop in Greece, good Hip-Hop that is, are really few.

I live in Hollywood, FL (a city that is sandwiched between Miami & Fort Lauderdale). When on the road, cars usually are playing Reggaeton or Miami Bass (Trick Daddy Dollars, Pitbull, DJ Khaled, etc.). Jay-Z gets played in people's car as well. Other than that, half the time the song playing is not clear, because all you hear is trunk rattle and loud thumping.

I have one friend that has a broad taste (like myself) in regards to music. He can listen to Fort Minor and Tech N9ne one day and E-40 and Obie Trice another day.

I have a friend that is behind on rap music and just heard Dr. Dre - ____ You, a song that came out in 1999. Other friends listen to whatever is currently in the mainstream cycle.

I live in the Bay Area so the Hyphy Movement is really big. People are also really into dance hip hop here and we have barely any underground or old school listeners which is my prefered style of rap.
