Seriously KRS is my favorite rapper, but it seems he is never brought up in any discussions talking about old school rap or when using examples from the old school on Yahoo answers. Yet every greatest rapper list has him in the top 10, usually top 5. I just don't think most people respect him or really know about his career, so i have a challenge to no one who's ever heard KRS-One listen to the album "Criminal Minded". He is so underrated in most rap discussions. Will someone please tell me why everyone forgets about KRS, and give me reasons why he shouldn't be known as on of the best of all times? I just kind of want to get everyone's opinions on KRS.

Evil did you seriously just say KRS-One isn't controversial. His opinions are incredibly controversial and has given made a lot of people dislike him.

Qwerty KRS did get a little repetitive after his I Got Next album, but he came back hard with Hip-hop Lives with Marley Marl. That album is hot.

Yeah... that has never made sense to me. He is easily one the best rappers of all time. I actually just discovered him a few months ago, and I have a lot of music. It is just that he is slept on too much. Now he is one of my favorites. Good question.

And mainly I am talking about his BDP stuff, and his first few solo cds. He did get repative and talked to much about his real mc credentials.

KRS-One is a legend I personally forget about due to the fact he called marley marl and the juice crew gay back in the days during the bridge wars. Im from Queens but KRS is really underated as is Curtis Blow And Slick Rick. goes to show you how far rap and hip hop have come. We forget at times those that paved the way.

For me, KRS-One started getting repetitive and boring a long time ago, only spelling his name, talking about how he is a real MC, saying that people should respect him. BDP era and early solo work he was fresh and great, but he either ran out of ideas or got bored when he was making albums after that.

I've been down with KRS-1 since day one (BDP, Scott La Rock, D-Nice), so I feel what you saying. I've used his name alot when comparing heads in a logical factor to express the true essence of hip hop. I was just listening to the sneak attack and krstyles, two classics in my opinion to really gain knowedge of what the truth about this country that we live in.
"The real hip hop is over here"...

people forget about him because he wasn't contreversial...."BTW, I'm currently listening to outta here, off of Return of the Boom Bap"

What I mean by that is he wasn't really a "beef rapper" I know he was contreversial with a lot of stuff (like his 9/11 comments..) i'm just saying that a lot of people just remember mainstream beef rappers...
Also, his last...say...thousand albums have all been this "I am Hip hop stuff" (he even has a song called that!!)
