Before I start, I would like to say that I am black. I dont listen to hip hop nor do I feel it makes me less "black" because I dont. I think thats one of the problems when it comes to hip hop music. I mean, The hip hop thats on the tv now. I creates this stereotype about african americans that are not true. But the problem is even african americans (the majority of them) is starting to believe the lie and as a result the lie is becoming the truth. Thus now, this is how the world sees us. I believe that rap is a form of poetry but when taken to the media, it creates this false view of african americans. and the ones that follow the stereotype is doing more damage then actually helping. Lets define the culture, and not let the culture define us. Am i wrong on this view? what do you guys think?

I'm looking for a song, but don't know any lyrics, I just know the beat. I heard it around 2001. Can anyone give me names of rap songs that use oriental sounds or Indian music sounds in the background, for example, songs that sound like:

Suga free- Why U Bullsh*ting,
Nas -QB Finest- oochie wallie,
Jay Z, Panjabi MC- Beware of the boys
Trina - B R Right,
Keith Murray- yeah yeah you know it,
Truth Hurts- Addictive,
etc.

PLEASE HELP!

This is just my opinion, you guys might not agree with me but how do you guys feel when rappers compare themselves 2 God or Jesus? Like Nas calls himself God's Son, he crucified himself in that Hate me Now video which I thought was pretty offensive. Jay-Z calls himself HOV or Jay-HOVA u know. Then I don't know if it was Pac's idea 2 have a picture of himself crucified in the 7 day theory album but I think that was stupid 2. How do you guys feel about that? Do you guys take those offensive or do you guys be like whatever? I mean does Jay actually just becuase he doesn't have a pen & pad when making songs he's actually a GOD. Even if they are doing that just 4 entertaining or whatever I think its offensive. What are your guys thoughts & opinions?

Sorry Wayne Your Not There Yet regardless of what all of you’re superfans think. I’m sure by now you’ve all seen or heard of MTV’s “Hot List” or whatever it’s called. And I’m sure many of you were left scratching your head after reading the list. But no one should really be surprised considering Main-Stream Hip-Hop audiences have the attention span of an ADD riddled child sippin’ Red Bull. let’s not confuse “hot” with greatness. Greatness is reserved for those that changed the game, that refused to conform to the various political power players that govern the music industry and those that have shown longevity and relevance from first album to last. There is no arguing that Lil Wayne is a hot artist right now. But take heed of the word “hot” - Infinitely different than legendary or great. Many an artist has had the “hot” label tattooed on their back for a time. But to keep that hotness and parlay that into greatness is the real challenge I think people are confusing being hot with having a certain level of skill.” Can Wayne parlay his prodigious mixtape releases into a classic LP? Neither “Tha Carter” nor “Tha Carter 2” were classic albums. To reach past just “hot” status, Wayne will need the forthcoming “Carter 3” to be a masterpiece to solidify himself as one of the game’s greats. Without that notch on his belt, Wayne fans will still sound hollow when debating his greatness.
