Yay area: thank you u understood..good point though his poularity was goin down when he came out with nastradamus-dissapointing album...and all of a sudden he releases ether and hes betta the jay-z

I think if he didn't come back with Ether he probably wouldn't be as relevant. During that time it was when he was criticized of selling out, his career & popularity was going down, & then Jay dissed him & everyone thought he was done with. So if he never made Ether he would've been great I'm sure but probably wouldn't have as much respect.

I Think What Ether did He Toke Everything Jay Said And Threw It Back In His Face The Song That Brought Nas Back IMO Back Was One Mic This Song Showed That Nas Was Still A Great Lyrical Force To Be Reckoned With When i First Heard This Song It Blew My Mind ! This Track Was Amazing And I Couldn't Believe it Since His Work Right Before One Mic Was The Horribly Disappointing Nastradamus And Everybody Said Nas Was A Washed Up Has Been So I Think Ether Was A Viscous Brutal Diss Nobody Expected Him To Come Back At Jigga That Hard But For Me After I hear one Mic And Ran Out And Bought The Appropriately Titled Stillmatic And After one listen To The Album Got Me Back Into Nas And Regained My Respect For Him

I think Ether brought him back...He went hollywood for a second...I cant comment on whether he is better because imma die hard Jay fan...So im gonna say no...Maybe back in the earlier years I would say Nas is better...But Jay had to do the same when he came out with the Blueprint because Jay lost me after the Dynasty album. But I will say that Ether MADE Nas come back to life.

RE: Original version of “Ether” made by 'NAS', was much more agressive and harsher than the one we have all heard? And obviously it has even better lines than the original Because Colombia asked him up to 3 times to edit the songs, that is probably the big reason why in certain points of Ether sounds like Nas is filling in spaces with saying things like “C0CK a fella” and “gay-Z”. I don’t know first hand but...

Nas would of been fine without Ether. But yeah, I think it put him over the edge on who is better. I like Nas and Jay-z equally, but the tie breaker for me is Ether, because it one the battle between them. Its like Kobe and Shaq, they are both 2 of the basketball players ever. But I say Shaq is better since he one the battle after they split ways... make sense?

The cd ILLMATIC came out in 1994 and was and still considered in many eyes the best cd of all time. Ether made Nas betta but it did not make him.
Edit- Ether was a good dis song but nobody gets made off one song. I dont think it would matter if he wouldve made ether or not cause cds ae wat make you. Hip Hop is dead shows how good he is and the cd is bein nominated 4 different awards. Witout ether, i dont think opinions of him bein betta than jay would change.

and nas is complex and puts his all into his albums
