Whats with all the haters on the hip hop section today?

Johnny_rico:

Why does your self hatred run so deep that you base your status on what others have done? You don't speak for all black people and neither do these hip hop artists that you rage against. Focus your energy on being yourself and letting others live their own life. As I said in a question you asked earlier, it's all about PERSONAL CHOICE AND PERSONAL RESPONSABILITY.

Very true. You must have one hell of a will to ignore some of the stuff people post on here. Preach on!

*SIGH* I am absolutely disgusted with some of the content on this site this morning. It goes beyond people's dislike for rap. To me it's a deeper reflection of the ignorance that a lot of people have, not only about rap, but common sense in general. I decided not to respond to any of the negativity being spilled out on this site today, none of it applies to me. I will not allow the negativity to get me excited or riled up. I know who I am, what I stand for and what my culture represents to me.

Johnny Rick " Rap music makes black people look stupid"

Where did you pull that ignorant statement from. You are generalizing...there are so many Rap ARTist of different ethnicities but you choose one. They are Caucasion, Asian, Hispanic, Black and many others out there but you pick one.

All rap music is not offensive. Like I told someone else, tell me one offensive thing Common, Lupe Fiasco, or The Roots-just to name a few- has said thats offensive? So Im assuming since you feel that way...does rock music make white people look stupid? Does reggaeton make puerto rican people look stupid? Or you're just aiming your answer toward black people for a particular reason? You need to live and learn a bit more before you answer another question.

Johnny Rico, I appreciate the compliment. Thank you very much. Take Care

people generally don't like hip-hop because they sample and rarely use real instruments. Back in the day we used to call these people, white people, but now its evolved into many other types of people and its kind of hip-hop's own fault. We've allowed too many crappy rappers to slip through the cracks so now their not only attacking us on how we create our music but also the content of our music. Now I don't support all content of hip-hop music but I also don't accept the fact that many of the idiots who complain about it don't know that their kids are in love with this crappy music and they stood back and acted like it was hip-hop's fault for it.

it is nice. i'm lovin' the Bone Brothers and Frost (!). i do unlike Eric B & Rakim, De l. a. Soul, much less Black Eyed Peas. Lemme recommend some solid songs based on your tastes: toddler Frost - Los Katrachos [superb] Bone Thugs - eternal [5/5] Ice cube - examine 'Yo Self
