This is mine: The Scorpion Deathlock by The Devil Wears Prada

2007-11-27 08:56:06 · 23 answers · asked by Anonymous in Rock and Pop

It came out either in the 90s or 80s.
Something about a hero and the villan goes free. I think one line goes something like "one of those stories..."
Any ideas? Thanks!

case in point: i spent several years hating my chemical romance without listening to enough of their music to give them a reasonable judgement, simply because i didnt like the emo scene. it wasnt until my friend brought over a copy of "three cheers for sweet revenge" and i actually listened to it, that i started to wonder why the style assumptions we make about bands are more important then the music. even if im not an emo, cant i listen to MCR and even like some of their songs without being labeled an emo? can i appreciate lynard skynard without being a redneck and instead just a guy that likes what he hears?

and dont pretend you dont do something similar with whatever clique you associate with.

okay, before the hatemail starts, allow me to clarify. do LZ and PF put out good music? yes. do i think they are two of the most influential bands of all time? yes. do i like them? HELL YES! but are they (or any single band) really worthy of the praise they get from die hard led-heads at the expense of every other good band of the last 30 years?

I know I can. For example, when I listen to the Deftones, I can hear that they were collectively influenced by 70's hard rock and metal, New Wave and even some of the "shoegazer" bands. While certain songs may tip their hats more towards one genre, overall they are a reflection of their very mixed musical pasts.

I think that to be influenced as a musician, and to have your music show this, is not necessarily a bad thing.

Can you hear who inspired your favorite musicians when you listen to them?

Trust me, I have searched the internet. No luck.

It's the very last song, " Death of Mother Nature Suite".
At the very end of that song, when the acoustic guitar starts strumming that chord progression.

What are those chords?

Thanks, I very much appreciate any help.

This is hard to decide, isnt it?
I've always loved the Black Dog solo, its awesome.

Dazed and Confused has an awesome solo.

The Heartbreaker solo is amazing.

But I'm gonna say the guitar bit in the beginning of Tangerine. Its pretty self explanitory.

Allow me to clarify:
They were not as intelligent as they let on, were unappreciative of their fans, good ol' fashioned pricks, etc...

With this in mind, would you think twice about such a meeting if the opportunity presented itself?

I've got hundreds of albums (my babies) & cassettes from the 60's thru the 90's most of which are in mint condition. My children don't seem very interested in them (except to sell).
(I dread the thought of what my kids will do with them).
Should I just sell them myself, donate them, etc.?
How can you find their value besides on e-bay?
Anyone else lose sleep over this or am I just sick?
