Pink Floyd- Echoes, Comfortably numb, Shine on you crazy diamond... those songs transport me to a vast outer and inner universe.
Genesis- Squonk, Ripples, Carpet Crawlers, Snowbound.... those have so much imagination and speak of imaginary worlds that might be hidden right behind the door.
Dire Straits-Sultans of Swing, Tunnel of love.... these bring the childhood back and the times I was a teenager and started to understand the grown up world..
Yes - Tales from Topographic Oceans... a symphony of spiritual bliss

brokendown palace by the grateful dead
very important for a masterpiece to not be cliche or overplayed some of the suggestions are too pop for this reason..... the bands that produced the songs suggested in some of the responses have masterpieces, however the songs suggested lack in substance and are just "catchy" tunes that were way to mainstream to be masterpieces.
sultans of swing by dire straits also very pleasing to the ears.
led zeppelin had much better music than the bubble gum stairway to heaven. try 10 years gone. or kashmir
however opinions are like assholes we all got 'em and they all stink so if a song moves you thats what it's meant to do and i guess thats what qualifies it to be a masterpiece. beauty is in the eye of the beholder and as for music beauty is in the ear and heart of the listener.i'll do as the grateful dead suggests "listen to the rivers same sweet song to rock my soul"
