I know I'm not classed as a youngster anymore - but what is this song all about?!? It was probably the most annoying thing I've ever heard in my whole life. I was in the process of being detoured on my way home because of a car fire and I was desperately waiting to hear the local travel so I could work out which way I could go and this "song" came on with this woman saying "um-brella, rella, aaaa" and I really really wanted to shove one up her ........jumper. Go on - tell me it was that Nelly bloody Fatado woman - betcha

I'm teaching a class next week for 7-8 year olds. They aren't dancers and just need a fun song to dance to. So far, I've already used Lip Gloss by Lil Mama, and Bazooka Bubblegum, both of which were great hits.

Have you heard a song that you haven't heard in years and when you finally hear it again it brings you back in time and you remember exactly how you felt back then?

My mom passed away a couple of years ago at a fairly young age. Some of my favorite memories of her were riding around in her little Mustang with the country music station turned up loud when I was a little girl.

Does anyone remember any of the names of songs that were popular between 84-89 time frame? I would love to just sit back and get that feeling back and sometimes a song can do that for me.

What were your favorites from way back then???

I don't like pop music but I was wondering what makes something pop. I know that pop means popular but what makes someone like Britney Spears or Debbie Gibson pop? Should rap (I don't like rap) be pop if it's popular?

I saw the Go-Go's in 1994 in San Diego, at one of those Christmas pacakge shows put on by a local station there. I expected their show to be a laugher. The tore the place up, and the crowd loved them. I even bought their greatest hits CD the next day.

Which compilation albums would you recommend? Not single songs, but full albums plz! And no techno like I've seen some moron recommend elsewhere or heavy metal...

I'm thinking something slow, trip-hoppish like Morcheeba first two albums. Also old R&B like Al Green, Barry White, Marvin Gaye, etc.
