Have you heard a song that you haven't heard in years and when you finally hear it again it brings you back in time and you remember exactly how you felt back then?

My mom passed away a couple of years ago at a fairly young age. Some of my favorite memories of her were riding around in her little Mustang with the country music station turned up loud when I was a little girl.

Does anyone remember any of the names of songs that were popular between 84-89 time frame? I would love to just sit back and get that feeling back and sometimes a song can do that for me.

What were your favorites from way back then???

Thanks everyone :-)

Lots of George Strait - especially "The Chair," which was requested 5 times an hour at the radio station where I worked.

Marie Osmond - "There's No Stopping Your Heart." That whole album is excellent, and there's also a duet with Dan Seals, "Meet Me In Montana," that was a big hit.

Speaking of Dan Seals, try "Bop," and "Everything That Glitters Is Not Gold."

Lee Greenwood was still pretty big then.

Then there's The Judds. "Mama She's Crazy" started a chain of unstoppable hits for them during that timeframe.

Highway 101 became popular then with things like "The Bed You Made For Me" and a few others.

How about "You Haven't Heard The Last Of Me" by Moe Bandy?

And then there's Sawyer Brown and then there's Southern Pacific and then there's Sylvia -- "Nobody" was requested a lot.

The list is endless and I could go on all day if I could think and I weren't on the spot... Hope this helps.

I can't answer specific songs, I just turned 16 and bought my own little mustang to ride around in and starting listening to rock- Madonna was just becoming popular. However, if memory serves me, Alabama, George Strait, Anne Murray (A little good news), Bailey and the Boys, Charly McClain, Cher, Collin Raye, Conway Twitty, Deborah Allen (Baby I lied), Dolly Parton, Don Williams, Ed Bruce, Eddie Rabbit (I love a rainy night), Emmylou Harris, Freddie Fender, Hank Williams Jr, Hoyt Axton, Jerry Reed, John Anderson, John Schneider, Johnny Lee, Johnny Paycheck, Kenny Rogers, Lacy J Dalton, Larry Gatlin, Mel McDaniels (Baby's got her blue jeans on), Randy Travis, Ronnie Milsap, Tanya Tucker, Terri Gibbs, TG Shepard, The Judds, Vince Gill (Cinderella) were all popular.
Hope that helps, Man I feel old.
