I have started listening to more punk rock music. I was wondering what are some good bands i should check out. Or just good bands in general?

I don't really want the song to be something like "I will always love you" by whitney houston. I want to sing a song that is not that well known but still sounds good. No rock though... i can't sing rock. Maybe soul...or r&b...or an oldie that everyone has forgotten. Can someone list a few?

I first heard it on Hawaiian 105 KINE. The only lyrics I remember are "light up the night, light up the night." It has a really neat guitar solo in it.

Any ideas? I'd recognize it if I heard it.

the song may be named runaway (Del Shannon Cover) Also a one hit wonder, the singer had long curly brown hair and played a typical 80's neon guitar

still hangin on your bedroom ceiling, the Saturday Night Fever poster with John Travolta, playing the BeeGees's Staying Alive song on a record player, with hanging beads as your door, and a political button that says Vote Carter? Yes, I know it's you. You can run but you can't hide.

Here is the best I can come up with the lyrics. (Chorus) Cause I feel, cause I feel like heaven's so far away.
Cause I feel, cause I feel like the world's cold because you've gone away, gone away.
It's a rock song. Maybe The Offspring?
