I don't really want the song to be something like "I will always love you" by whitney houston. I want to sing a song that is not that well known but still sounds good. No rock though... i can't sing rock. Maybe soul...or r&b...or an oldie that everyone has forgotten. Can someone list a few?

It can't have anything about sex... like "making love.." explict lyrics...anything like that.

"Beginnings" by Chicago. Technically, they're considered rock, but their music has more of a jazz/fusion feel, especially the early stuff. This song is from their very first album, "Chicago Transit Authority," way back in 1969!
BTW, you don't say what your vocal range is. "Beginnings" is great for my alto, but if you're a soprano, you might want to skip my suggestion and go with one of the other answers (the Minnie Ripperton one is good...she did that ultra-high note thing ages before Mariah Carey did!).
