When VH-1 still had "Behind the Music" they kept saying the "Pre-Fab Four." What does that mean? Why were they called such?

There was a song in the late 80s/early 90s that I just loved. I think it was Ministry, but all my lyrics searches are coming up fairly empty handed. The lyrics I remember are "Tell me something I don't know, show me something I can't use. Push the button, connect the godd&*n dots!" Any assistance appreciated. =) Tks.
