Most radio stations are programmed by large, national radio subscription services that determine which songs are likeliest to sell in which markets, and hammer those damned songs to death. It's all business nowadays, without even the pretense of serving the community or caring a bit about the music played; if they could get away with just running the commercials you can bet they would.

I suggest satellite radio....there are tons of music stations for any type of music you want and no commercials. It is definatley worth the $13 a month just to not hear the damn commercials. Regular radio will soon be a thing of the past atleast I believe that (and Howard Stern to:-))

apparently they only play the biggest artist and none of the other stuff cuz they figure anything more than a year old u should have by now. i heard the same song 3 times in 2 hours and they only play 2 songs before going to a commercial break 5 mins long. so i keep my car stocked wit cds...just copies in case someone breaks in.

That is why you get your own music and mix them....=)
