I just watched Das Boot, and realized that special effects really have nothing to do with the realism of the film, it is more script and cinematography.

You know that part in The Golden Compass where the two talking bears are fighting and one bear rips the other one's lower jaw off? Was that in the book, 'cause that was cool.

Doesn't have to be intended for children, my 5 year old loved "Lilies of the Field", but Nemo and Babe were too disturbing with the deaths of the mothers.

What is your take on the movie, "The Golden Compass."

I believe it is a stupid movie with no value.

I am sure I read somewhere a while back that when recording the original or 'first take' dialogue on a film set, that much of the time the actors have to go into a sound studio and to redo the dialogue. Is this true? And if so, why?

...trying to remember a movie, which I saw at one of my local downtown grindhouse theaters, back in the late '80s' (...might have even been early '90's). I remember something about a young couple, traveling in the desert, who pick up a deranged and psychopathic artist; this guy strands the husband in the middle of the hot desert, runs off with his wife in their recreational vehicle, and once he has her to himself, he tortures her, both physically and mentally, and finally rapes her. At the end of the film, the husband, barely alive, catches up with the psychopath, and dishes out some fateful and well-applied vengeance...

...it was very compelling, grim and uncomfortably disturbing, yet at the same time, it was very allurring and sexy....and for the life of me, I cannot remember the title...

I'd very much like to get this movie; has anyone ever heard of it??

they are both the same movies just named differently. Joe Pesci was about 23 when he done it and thats how he was noticed by martin scorsesea and david chase copied some of it for his series "The Sopranos" awesome.

I saw a movie a while back and it's bugging me that I can't remember the actors or what its called. Not like it was the best movie, I just can't remember.

It's about a newlywed couple that fight all the time. The couple and the woman's best friend go to a carnival and the husband gets drunk. The husband goes out to the van and the friend comes after him to make sure he is ok. He tries to rape the friend and the wife kills him. Then they both try to cover up the murder. The wife acts all sad and widowed and begs her friend to clean up the evidence. I don't even remember how it ends.

has anyone else seen this movie?

I saw this movie long ago. All I remember is that it was in B&W and there was a man, a lady and a little girl in. Someone told the girl the story of the animals kneeling at midnight on Christmas Eve. I only remember the end. The little girl ran away for some reason, and they found her in the stockyards waiting around for midnight on Christmas Eve. The man was trying to tell her it was just a story but midnight when the star was shining bright in the East, all the animals around them actually kneeled down. That's all I can remember.

My gosh, it's not even Christmas, and already, I'm thinking about next Halloween. Anyways, next year I want to really go all out, and do myself up as a sexy gothic movie vampire; specifically, as far as the movies, where might I begin to look, as far as inspiration??? I definitely don't want to do this on the cheap, so are there any specific websites, where I could get some real good quality special effects make-up supplies???

now what really happens, is Beowulf goes and kill the monster, and then it's mother comes out (and it's mother is suposed to be even uglyer then her son) and starts killing people- so Beowulf kills her, then the king says that when he dies Beowulf will be king, and then Beowulf says "no i can't be king, i'm a hero" then he leaves for he homeland, and there is some drugen and he dies killing the dragon! THEY TTLY SCREWED UP THE MOVIE!
