It was an animated film from the early 80's
I can only vaguely remeber the plot.
It was a fantasy epic about and elf. He was sneaking through a castle and he saw the ogre whose "tunics were dipped in elves blood to make them red".
In the end he had to slay a black and or shadow dragon.
