I'm not a fan of the SOAPS but my mother and sister are; they are into the ABC soaps. I happen to watch a little bit when they are on the screen.

I was wondering if the style of soaps are meant to be over the top and not realistic. One might argue that every show out there is not meant to be realistic such as "24" and what not but i mean things like stealing someone's sperm from a sperm bank.

Is the style of soaps meant to be not real at all?
