Entertainment & Music - 10 March 2007

Set in a little village in Russia, focussing on this kid. I don't remember much plot, but I remember some of the things that happened.

There were: kids boxing in the roof of a barn, kids trying to make their own spaceship after Sputnik went up and ending up with this wooden box on a wire strung from the roof of a house, and a young girl trying to disguise herself as a boy so she could keep on boxing with her friends. Possibly someone fell through some ice too, but that might not have happened.

If anyone has seen this film and can remember a title or director or anything, it'd really help me out. Thanks a lot.

The ones who tend to play the slightly wierder, off beat or creepy characters but whom you love. I love Helena Bonham Carter, Sandra Bernhard, and Tilda Swinton. Not just Good actresses, but really the out-of-the-norm ones.

so...i've always believed that a cat's whiskers are it's sensors, so it knows what spaces it will be able to fit into and which spaces it can't.

yet...when i open the sliding glass door, my cat will invariably lodge himself between the glass and the screen, then cry for me to unstick him.

so...the question is...are whiskers just for looks, or does my cat just not know how to use his?
