It's weird I know, but this song was shown for a few seconds during the 1989 (yes we are going a long way back here!) Oscar awards, it is defintiely much older than that though as it was shown as being sung by a very young Jodie Foster and another boy who could quite possibly be the bloke from the Blue Lagoon movies, I remember one line going like this - and I think it was the end of the chorus - 'Love goes on and on' - does anyone have any ideas?

One rumor is that his wife was raped by a man who Phil himself witnessed drowning and that he left him there to drown.

Another more likely rumor is that his close friend was drowning as Phil watched, too far away to help, while another man that could've helped him, didn't
Phil then invited him to a concert where he sang the song as the spotlight shone on the man.
