I am writing a psychology paper on people's preconceptions & habits as they relate to race & identity. please don't misunderstand this to be racist!

I have observed from personal experience:
1. if a girl is very pretty, people (who ask) are less likely to assume she is Jewish if she has dark features (they may rather think she is Italian, Greek, Spanish, etc.)

2. if a girl is quite plain, or unattractive, (I'm not talking nose here, just in general), she is more likely to be asked if she is Jewish (if she has dark features).

3. I can prove that this is SOMETIMES true because when someone really really pretty is later found out to be Jewish also (not at all saying these 2 things can't sometimes or even often go together), many people will say "really? she doesn't look it."

4. cases of above are: sarah michelle geller, natalie portman, kate hudson or alicia silverstein.

5. i'm not talking about conversions (like elizabeth taylor).

Are cartoons of today better than that of the 80's and 90's? I consider the cartoons of the 80's and 90's as great, but the visuals were lacking. Today's cartoons are so much better visually and the storylines are more insync with as compared to the 80's and 90's that what happened on yesterdays episode most of the time had very little to do with today's episode.

Plotlines and visuals aside, which do you perfer

Last night's episode of family guy was not even funny. and that whole radio bit they did was just so annoying. i swear after the south park episode making fun of family guy, it's just so hard to watch that show anymore. every episode there is some stupid song that isn't even funny. it's just annoying, and i used to really like that show too. now it's just the same repetitver jokes over and over. i know i'm going to get some bad feedback from this, but i just needed to vent my frustration. anyone else feel this way about family guy?

I try to keep candy in my office for myself and visitors. Last week there were hershey miniatures, mini reese's pb cups, and some kit kats.

The last three guys to stop by and get candy, rummaged through the box to get what they wanted. One of the guys ate ALL of one of the candy, even leaving with some in his hand and another left just one of the kind he was eating. I just noticed it, didn't really think much of it.

Someone else came in and asked "do you have any kit kats left" and I said "no, so-and-so came in and took all of them." He said he thought it was rude for someone to take all of one of the candy.

Do you think it's rude to snag all of one thing from someone who is offering up freely? Or if someone is taking candy for free, should they just take what they get and be happy? Weigh in on it... curious about how others feel.

I am hooked on the show "Flavor of Love"...but why are these girls so in love with him? I dont think he has a whole lot of money left from the 80's. But why are these relatively pretty girls fighting over this little guy that is 47, not cute AT ALL, and hasn't been popular for a while?

Is it the tv factor or do any of you think they really like him?
I'm sure if they saw him on the street as a normal guy, they would'nt give him the time of day...opinions please....
Thanks!

The teacher asked,"Boy. what is your problem?"
Boy. answered, "I'm too smart for the first-grade.
My sister is in the third-grade and I'm smarter than she is!
I think I should be in the third-grade too!"
Ms Neelam had enough. She took Boy. to the principal's office.
While Boy. waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the principal what the situation was.
The principal told Ms Neelam he would give the boy a test and if he failed to answer any of his questions he was to go back to the first-grade and behave.
She agreed. Boy. was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test.
Principal: "What is 3 x 3?" Boy.: "9". Principal: "What is 6 x 6?" Boy.: "36".
And so it went with every question the principal thought a third-grade should know.
The principal looks at Ms Neelam and tells her, "I think Boy. can go to the third-grade. "
