I'm in for a special treat. In just the span of 3 weeks, from Sep.20 to Oct.12, I'm going to see Eric Clapton/w Robert Cray, The
Who, Roger Waters and his Dark Side of the Moon tour, and, to cap it all off, the Stones at Soldier Field. Not only will this be an
incredible 3 weeks, it got me thinking about how great that era
of rock was......let's be realistic...Aerosmith was just a typical
band of the era, and now they are considered rock gods.
Same with a zillion of them. Bad Company and Black Sabbath
got lambasted by the critics at the time, and now are considered
immortal.....then you had Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Zepplin, and so on.
My question is, has rock gotten that bad, or am I just waxing
melancholic about the era? From what I hear, kids today stil listen to Zepplin and Floyd, and the Stones still draw all ages to their
mega stadium concert, so I don't think it's just me.....What do you think? Was that era the singularly finest era in rock never to
be repeated again?
