I don't think it matters. I just don't need semi-strangers looking at my picture. And it seems like some people look for ways to insult the real pictures (I'll admit I've done it myself), even when the question has nothing to do with it.
Someone earlier insulted my dog (which is my pic). Would love to see Zippy insult my dog to his face. :)

I think a web image allows the anonymity people prefer on Answers, while at the same time providing a glimpse into another part of their personality.
I would like to use an image myself, but I haven't figured out how to do it, despite several inquires.

I like to see who's question I am answering and who's answering mine. but, thats just me. so I guess my answer is a picture of yourself.
