Remember the song with the lyrics, ' got a 6 string '... ' played it till my fingers bled..'.
Practice Practice Practice (with proper learning in between). The fingers will build calases over time.

Hurts pretty bad Huh? It will for a while. Then you'll develop the heavenly callus and the tops of your fingers will kinda flatten out and you'll be able to play for hours without hardly any pain. Tough it out, you'll get there.

Okay, first, it's easier to play a guitar with light gaige strings. Also, it's normal to experience some discomfort when you first begin playing. In about a week or two, you should begin to get some calluses and then they won't bother you.

You need to slowly build up calluses on your fingertips. First come the blisters. Play every day but stop just after they start to hurt too much to play. It will take a couple of weeks, but you have to do it. I even tries oragel once, but it sisn't really help. "You got to suffer if you're gonna sing tha blues"

You just keep playing until you fingertips develop callouses. Don't play until your fingertips look like ground meat!!!... A day of rest here and there is OK in the beginning.

Keep practicing. It will get stronger as you keep playing. If you really think you are doing something wrong, take a couple of lesson with a professional. Good luck!

i used to rub super glue on the tips of my fingers using my thumb. its non toxic but you have to be quick cos you dont want to stick your digits together!! otherwise you are a beginner so you might just have to get used to it. a bit like getting playstation thumb!
