I am toying around with the idea of writing a novel about a fictional new kind of music sweeping America. It has always struck me as interesting how and why new music is created, and its social origins (Hip Hop coming from R & B for example). However, I am pretty stuck on how to research it. Any suggestions

His songwriting is honest and the music is great. But it does take an effort to listen because he is often off-key and the sound quality (ok, that part is not his fault) is often so-so.

Can we agree that he's original, talented and honest without making of him the ill-tortured-genious he is depicted as?

The best female would have to be Lara Croft from Tomb Raider Legends. For a animated character, wow. Plus she kicks as* with her dual pistols.

Best male would be Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. He kicks as* and has no regret about doing it.
