Homework Help - February 2007

I am doing a history project on the Columbine High School shooting. I am supposed to focus on the tragedy of it, but also the triumph (families of victims have done things to prevent violence, impacts that its had on society, ect.) We need a title by this Friday, and are having issues coming up with a gripping one.

I dont understand why this problem can be done, my book got an answer for it. It is 1-|2-3x|<-4. I thought you can't have an absolute value equaling a negative. Is it doable only because you divide both sides by the -1 and it thus becomes a positive?

the directions are: For each question, find the DECIMAL values for a & b that make the equation true.

so a & b have to be decimals. the math problems are:

A divided by B=9

A divided by B=6

A divided by B=5

A divided by B=20


those are the exact questions, Not my answers.

What does the author’s physical description of the town of Maycomb tell you about the people who live there? Notice especially the description of the town in Chapter 1. Doesn’t the insistence that Maycomb is a lazy town where nothing ever happens make you feel that something very ominous is going to occur before long? How can this be?
