I've been sitting here for the past 10 minutes looking at these problems and trying to solve them and I'm just completely stuck.

I have to take these repeating decimals and turn them into a fraction or mixed number.

The decimals:
__
-1.36
___
- 2.707

I know the answers. Thats not what I'm interested in. I want to know HOW to get that, I honestly can't figure it out.

The answers are: - 1 4/11 and the second one is 2 707/999

Help PLEASE.

i tried it but i got stuck!!! heres what i did.
180-x-25
155-x equals the supplement but then you can find the actual #, making
155-x+x-25=180
155-2x-25=180
130-2x=180
-2x=50
x=-25.
If i plug the x into (x-25) and (155-x) then i get a negative # for (x-25), and you can't have negative degrees. What am i doing wrong?
Please show me what you did step by step like i did.

Last week Kiplinger released its list of the 100 best values in public colleges. Congratulations to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) for being at the top of the list! UNC charges about $4600 for in-state tuition and fees. Kiplinger’s list may be more important than ever considering the average tuition and fees at four-year public colleges have increased by 57% since five years ago. According to this average increase, what would we estimate the cost of in-state tuition and fees for UNC to have been five years ago? Express your answer to the nearest dollar.
