Well both are are at least part in the Alpine region of Europe.Both are democratic republics.They share a common border.The economy of both is a market economy ie they must export more goods/services than they import.Switzerland is one of the richest nations on earth.All her citizens share in this wealth education,health and standard of living
Austria relies heavily on tourism,This is a winter wonderland.

They both speak German (though the "Switzdutch" is very hard to understand). And they border the Boden See, a very huge and ancient lake.
