here's the question:
a teacher records the test marks of 25 students and calculates the class mean to be 72. jean-pierre finds out that his mark of 86 was recorded incorrectly as 36. what will the corrected class mean be?
i checked the answer key and it says the new class mean is 74, but i dont get how they got 74, so can you show me how you got 74, or you can show me how you did it and what you get so i'll know what went wrong and how i should do it. thank you!!! (and by the way, if you dont know what i'm talking about, then get lost)

Maria: (now talking to Ms. Evans)
Ummm, hi, Ms. Evans, I’d like to show you my dress that you specifically asked for. Remember me? Maria Rodriguez? Your designer? The one who wants her dress to be modeled at your show?

Ms. Evans: (pointing to dress)
Yes, but let me see the dress first.

Maria: (takes out dress)
Here you go. I hope you like it.

Ms. Evans:
(twitching nose and looking at dress)
Well, the color is actually quite good but it needs more........ designs, Maria. It could be done a little better.

Maria: (disappointed)
Uh... well, I figured that with the less designing the more color, it would be more attractive.

Ms. Evans: (a little frustrated)
In a way, maybe, but I prefer what I just asked you for. I don’t really feel like explaining anything towards anyone right now.

Maria: (uncomfortable feeling)
I’m sorry ma’am but…

Ms. Evans: (angry)
But what?.... Like I already said, I don’t have time to play games and I just need the dress that I asked you to re-do.

Maria:
(nervous but mad)
Ok, fine. But I want you to know that I have also worked my butt off and you are not the only one suffering. I have worked at this dress for over three weeks, day and night. And so far, I think that this is the best I’m doing.

Ms. Evans: (shocked)
Well, well, well, I see someone here has an attitude. As long as you are working under me, you will do as I say and what I ask for. You have designed dresses for me for only 3 months and already I don’t like it!

Maria: (a bit nervous)
It’s not easy to design these dresses. It requires much effort and time.

Ms. Evans:
(pointing towards Maria with a stern voice)
Don’t you think I know that? I have worked here for over 5 years and I have fired people in less than 2 days. Of course this job isn’t easy, what do you think this job is about? Kindness? Brutality? It’s all about fame and fortune. And I don’t want to argue with you over this, just please finish the dress that I asked you for.

Maria: (furious)
Excuse me? I’m sorry but I can’t finish that dress unless you tell me truth!

Ms. Evans: (angry and also furious)
Truth!? You want the truth? The truth is that this was never my dream. I only dream of money and being famous! This is not where I belong. Who would want a petty job like this? It’s useless. This takes up too much time of my precious life!

Maria: (shocked, holding herself)
You mean all this time you just want to be known throughout the world? Why would you ever do something like this? Don’t you even have any consideration for the people who actually want to do something with this job? People would go beyond the world to be where you are right now. You’re a disgrace.

Ms. Evans (pointing to herself)
A disgrace I may be, but sooner or later you’re going to do the exact same thing I’m doing.

Maria: (looking directly at Ms. Evans)
Trust me; I’ll never become a coward like you!
