Does anyone know if Nintendo plans on upgrading their gamecube. I mean Xbox has the 360 and i heard that playstation has a PS3 coming soon... Whats Gamecube going to do?

I have an xbox v1.1 and when i turn it on a screen saying you need call consumer service. So i called and they told me it cost 50$ to fix my MS dashboard. If anyone knows how to get a Ms dashboard and put it on xbox please help me. or if there is any other way to fix it. All i can do is run my games and i cant go online with them. I'm playing Chrono Cross and When I went to save it it said there is no memory card in slot 1, that memory card only has 2 games saved on it, so I was really puzzled. So I opened a brand new memory card I bought the other day, that has nothing on it, and put it in Slot 2 and had the same response, I didn't get that far in the game, so I stopped right away but this is really odd, anyone have any ideas why it's doing this?
