The PSP is an awesome console.

Not only does it play games, as you'd expect, you can:
- wirelessly browse the internet with the built in browser, and even play flash games too
- use it as an mp3 player - the USB cable to transfer music across is included, as are instructions and headphones
- use it as a portable video player. The UMD format is slowly dying, but use PSPvideo9 (http://www.pspvideo9.com) and you can convert and copy across films etc in one click!
- use it as something called a LocationFree player. Can't say I know what this is (might be US only) but there y'go.
- use it to view digital photos and so on - as good as, if not better than, an iPod Photo as the screen's bigger.
- if you're particularly technically minded and ambitious, you can hack it and run emulators on it - I know people aren't far off a working N64 implementation, and the SNES / Megadrive / etc are already working...

What's not to love? :-)

I think the PSP is brilliant. I bought one last year for my son but it is intended more for an older age group as he is only 10 and most games and films seem to be aimed at 12+. We have just started using it to watch films on when travelling and for storing pictures and music from the PC. You can download most of the software you need free but we bought a pack which had the usb, software and a memory stick for under £20 and it has allowed us to use it for many more uses!....Also the screen is much clearer than previous hand held consoles!

I have a psp I liked it a first but if you into music and video get an Ipod the only thing psp has that ipod doesnt is games.

PSP costs the same as an ipod with video but in order store alot of music files or video you have to buy additional memory chips and they are expensive.

I own a PSP and it is VERY good! As for music, yes you can put music on the PSP. You need a special USB cable for it. Most computer stores and electronics stores carry them.

definite, it rather is against the regulation. in case you need to change it to an mp3 record and e mail to the internet e book out of your source, that's ok. yet downloading it from a record proportion website continues to be unlawful. which would be like possessing a movie reproduction, yet then getting an illicit reproduction from a street seller and questioning you're coated.

Dude the PSP is BRILLIANT. The only problem is that games are expensive. However, buy a 2gb sony memory stick and you can get games.... uh.... elsewhere.....
