Internet - March 2007

I have just listened to a 2 minute long audiofile (I think the website says it's an mp3) through a QuickTime plugin in IE7, and even though I don't have pro I suspect the file is stored as a temp file on my harddisk since I now can play the file back without any delay. Anybody knows where to look?

on some peoples profiles theres a little music player box on the right hand side with 3 or 4 different songs. how can i get that on my profile? i only know how to add one and it always ends up on the left hand side under my picture and message box. can someone help please?

I can open pps attachments when sent to me with my Power
Point Opener, thats if sent to Outlook Express. But when emails are sent to my Hotmail address I can't find any way to save them to my PPsite for opening. Any help please!

From my analysis of the current technology trends in comparison to the comfort ness of the common man. I have observed that the current technology trends are in no where to the reach of the common man. Either its used beyond the limitations or its completely away from the reach of the common man. Technology being unlimited always has the major risk for crash.
Consider the case of web services. There are a hand full of websites coming up day be day. Thanks to the google and other search engines who are providing the most advanced search in order to fulfill the requirements of today and tomorrow. If you compare the search results of yesterday to today you might have observed there is a drastic increase not only in the number of sites that are displayed in the search results which has made us to identify the importance for net union or globalization. Is it not?? Throwing comments when we dont get the required is easy but to sort a solution is tough. guys i want your response. please.....

I know this has been asked before, but it would be good to get some replies from people who have changed from one to another.

I've been with Telewest, now taken over by Virgin, for 6 years. When it works, which is most of the time, it's great. When there are problems, the customer service is lousy. A call to support will take at least half an hour and the chances are they won't fix the problem first time, or it will be a temporary fix. Recently, it took a month before they admitted that a problem wasn't at my end. Are all broadband providers the same in this respect?
I also don't appreciate Virgin charging me 50% more than new customers for the same service.

So I'm now considering changing to ADSL. Be seem to have quite a good package with a free wireless modem, something not provided by Telewest, and free connection if I sign up before the end of this month. Orange are another possibility with a free 30-day trial.

So has anyone changed, either from cable to adsl or the other way?

The website is www.macys.com and it works fine in any other computer except mine. When I type it it redirects me to some other advertising websites (both in IE Explorer and Firefox) I ran all the programs I have (Ad-Aware, Spybot, Malware Sweeper, and my AVG Antivirus) I haven't encountered problems with any other website... but it is anoying b/c I have to pay my Macy's bill online and it won't let me.
