how do i make an internet banner ad??????

i want to learn how to make a PROFESSIONAL looking banner ad (like SHOOT THE BUG AND WIN A FREE IPOD VIDEO!) and THEN i need to know how to POST it on a website (like myspace)

AND to add on to that, i need it to be free...

It'll take a lot of work. You need to learn how to use Flash MX (www.adobe.com) and maybe Photoshop CS2 (www.adobe.com).
Tutorial websites like www.kirupa.com will help.
You need to learn how to use Flash and how to program in ActionScript to make the ad "work". Once you acquire those skills, you will need to find a company to hire you to make the ad. Those companies have deals with Myspace where they pay Myspace a large sum of money and Myspace runs their ads several thousand times. Or you can pay Myspace a large sum of money and they'll run the ad for you.

If you're determined enough, you can do it.

Make an animated banner with a GIF animation program. You can probably find a free one. I use the one integrated with Paint Shop Pro, but that was not free.

Get it posted on a website by signing up with a banner-exchange service, and transfering your file however they want it delivered.

NOTE: If the ad is associated with an attempt to generate revenue for yourself, you will likely be asked to provide your social security number, as income is taxed. This is also a popular way to steal identity, so BE VERY CAREFUL choosing who gets your data.

There are often design limitations placed on banner ads, so be prepared to modify your ad to satisfy the requirements of the people you want to host it for you.
