Why aren't automobile manufacturers building flying cars? All they do year after year is to make slight body design changes. Reason why I don't buy new car is because of this. It seems auto manufacturers are complacent because consumers keep buying their unimproved cars. When will I be able to buy a Back to the future type of flying cars. Are they working on this right now?

Besides size, what are some of the noticeable differences between the two? What is the dirving experience like? Bumpier, smoother? How about gas mileage, safety, reliability, overall driving experience? Thanks.

Why can't we just phase out the gasoline cars since clearly there are no advantage over alternative ways like cars with ethanol or even water as fuel? Oil prices are rising, ruining our planet and our own health... You might say the car companies will not agree of course, but what can they do if all of us will fight together against them.

I recently threw away a bunch of furniture, a tv set, two bicycles, and all of our regular garbage. I couldn't believe the truck could take all of it. Does anyone know how they work?

Okay, I'm reposting this for the morning folks to give a shot at!

Whenever I get a new "used" car, I always think of a neat little name for it. "Red Rocket", "Putter-bout", "Zipper", etc.)

Well, I just got a new little kick-around car, and she's all cleaned up and ready for a name. (see photo below)

Some come on guys, what does her name seem to be? (Or his name...)

My neighbour told me I am breaking the law but I told him I have seen lots of double yellow lines on roads. Is my neighbour a bit crazy and just trying to scare me?

I am looking for a company that will be able to provide me with rates on shipping household items.
I don`t want a full container and how would I go about send a home made crate....eg: 2mx2mx2m.....or is there a place that provides these?
I am planing on moving from Japan to New Zealand but not taking everything....the biggest items would be a push bike and a couple of snowbaords along with other smaller household items including clothes.
Thank you everyone in advance for your answers.

Also, if you can be bothered answering, what do you think the ultimate guys' car is?

Okay, I admit it, I'm only asking because I'm bored. I've been obssessed with driving lately (getting ready to do my test in a few weeks) and so have spent a lot of time on car sites (although I already have a great car) and designing which custom plates I want once I can afford them.

Thanks to all who answer :-) I'll give all *reasonable* answers a thumbs-up just for answering.

I was driving down a public back alley between houses and the was a gaping hole. I hit my splut (think that's what it's called, the cylinder with oil under the car) and all of my oil poured out all over the road. The car is now in a garage awaiting repair but can i claim costs of this back from the council?

This question pertains to a 120-volt DC electric vehicle with lead acid batteries. If the lead acid batteries are drawn down to nearly zero, how many cycles should I expect? Is it true that it takes 15 hours to charge a typical 120-V battery pack from a 15A electric outlet?

Why aren't there any "off the shelf" 120V DC battery chargers for EV's on the market that work off a standard15A (in North America) electric outlet?

I got 2 several years ago. They are not working and I want to replace them. I don't want the ones that are tiny. My car was in New Orleans, parked in our driveway during the levee breaks after Katrina. We were lucky and our street only got about 4.5-5.5 ft of water. Lot is a terraced lot, so the house only flooded a little. Car had marks halfway up the tires. And the air purifier was on. Car didn't even smell musty after being shut up from 8/28/05 till 10/5/05. So do they still make them or not?

It is really quite heavy, old and i think made of brass with a silver coating. It has an emblem engraved on it in a diamond shape with letters and numbers. It looks like a horse crossed with a dragon with wings. It has two front legs and a curly, scaly tail. Very unusual and i can't locate anything similar on the web.
