You can cheaply send it on Amtrak. There is the Amtrak ¨Auto Train¨ that goes from Sanford Florida to Washington DC. It should cost around $200 to ship the car on this train one-way.
It is not all the way to NY but it may be the cheapest option. DC to NYC is 200 miles and a 4 hour drive.

it would be cheaper to drive it , wouldn't it ??? you could use a car hauling service but it will be higher due to the fact of hauling just one car ,plus the fuel used in a large commercial truck not counting the price of the tolls for big trucks , you could be looking at 400.00 just for fuel not counting driver pay, etc. , I am most sure you could drive it there for a lot less than that .. take someone with you split the driving and drive it straight to NY
