The civics and corollas are both at the bottom of the line for Toyota and Honda. You'd be better off with a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord for reliability, but if I had to pick between the two I'd always choose the Honda over the Toyota.

I don't know where these people got their info, but I read just recently that out of ALL cars, the Honda Civic was rated number ONE. Honda Accord was also in the top five, as well as the Toyota Corolla. Just compare the features and test drive both, then decide.

I'd have to go with the Honda, although the Toyota is also a reliable car

Go with the Mazda 3. The Civic and Rolla are good, solid, reliable cars that will get you from A to B, but are both pretty boring to drive. The Mazda will also get you from A to B, but you will feel like driving it all the way to Z. It is a real "drivers" car.
